This is not just the slogan of our company, it is a reality of the Dobrogea area, of the people, of the land and all its fruits.

The Dobrogea region has been, since ancient times, through its opening to the sea, one of the cultural and civilization gates of the Carpathian-Pontic-Danubian space. Economic and commercial contacts with the maritime and continental-European world brought elements of innovation, invention, progressive currents and elements of modernity to Dobrogea.

From the point of view of capitalizing on its exceptional agricultural potential, Dobrogea has been, since the Neolithic era, a hotbed for the foundations of what would later become the milling industry (the main universal types of mills used throughout history were found in the Dobrogea region).

We do not intend to go through all the historical discoveries related to the Dobrogea region, but what is worth remembering is that the Dobrogea region has always been the granary of many civilizations and empires.

Perhaps this is where the meaning of the name Dobrogea comes from – good lamd (coming from the Slavic word “dobro” – which means “Good” and the Greek word “Ge” or “Gaea” which means “Earth”

Taking the name of the area, on June 15, 1961, the state enterprise “Dobrogea” was founded, with the object of activity being wheat processing, the manufacture of bread, special bakery products and biscuits.

Equipped with advanced technological equipment since its establishment, the Dobrogea state-owned enterprise has always been concerned with innovation and development, managing by 1990 to have an impressive portfolio of milling, bakery, biscuit and pastry products.

In 1990, pursuant to the law of 15/7 August 1990 regarding the reorganization of state units, the joint-stock company “Dobrogea” was established.

Today, after 64 years of tradition, expertise and accumulated knowledge, Dobrogea is proud of over 300 milling, bakery and snack products, 16 registered trademarks, 8 patented products and production processes, 7 production units, 7 own stores, export to over 15 countries, but especially with a team of over 1,200 colleagues.
