This is not only the slogan of our company, it is a reality of the Dobrogea area, of the people, of the land and all its fruits.
The Dobrogea region has been, since ancient times, through its opening to the sea, one of the gateways of culture and civilization of the Carpatho-Ponto-Danube space. The economic and commercial contacts with the maritime and continental-European world brought to Dobrogea elements of innovation, invention, progressive trend and elements of modernity.
From the point of view of exploiting the exceptional agricultural potential, Dobrogea has been, since the Neolithic era, a hot hearth for the foundations of what would later become the milling industry (the main universal types of mills used throughout history were found in the Dobrogea region).
We do not intend to go through all the historical discoveries related to the Dobrogea region, but what is worth remembering is that the Dobrogea region has always been the granary of many civilizations and empires.
Perhaps from here the meaning of the name Dobrogea – good land (coming from the Slavic word “dobro” – which means “Good” and the Greek word “Ge” or “Gaea” which means “Land”
Taking over the name of the area, on June 15, 1961, the state enterprise “Dobrogea” was founded, with the object of activity being the processing of wheat, the manufacture of bread, special bakery products and biscuits.
Equipped since its foundation with the best equipment and technologies, the Dobrogea state enterprise has always been concerned with the area of innovation and development, managing until 1990 to have an impressive portfolio of milling, bakery, biscuit and pastry products.
In 1990, pursuant to the law of August 15/7, 1990 on the reorganization of state units, the “Dobrogea” joint-stock company was established.
Today, after 62 years of tradition, expertise and accumulated knowledge, Dobrogea is proud of over 300 milling, bakery and snack products, 16 registered brands, 8 patented products and production processes, 7 production units, 7 own stores, export to over 15 countries, but especially with the team of over 1,200 colleagues.
